1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use ChatSathi, we may collect:
- Account details such as name, email address, phone number, profile photo, gender and biography.
- Messages and media you choose to send, including text, voice notes, audio and images.
- Usage information such as chat activity, coin balance, subscription status, host status and feature interactions.
- Device and technical information such as notification token, IP address, app version and diagnostic data.
- Payment references, order status and transaction amount supplied by Cashfree. We do not store full payment credentials.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, deliver chats and media, process purchases, provide notifications, display host profiles, prevent abuse, investigate reports, offer customer support and improve app reliability.
3. Permissions
The Android app may request microphone, camera, photo/media and notification permissions. These are used only for the relevant features you choose, such as recording voice messages, selecting images or receiving chat alerts. You can manage permissions in Android settings.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help operate ChatSathi, including hosting, Firebase notifications, authentication and Cashfree payment processing. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse or danger.
5. Public and shared information
Profile information marked for display may be visible to other users. Messages and media are shared with the intended conversation participant. Please avoid sending highly sensitive personal or financial information.
6. Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including authenticated API access and encrypted HTTPS connections. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their accounts and devices.
7. Data retention
We retain account, transaction and conversation information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by data type and applicable law.
8. Your choices and rights
You may update profile information in the app, revoke device permissions or contact us to request access, correction or deletion of eligible personal data. Some records may be retained where legally required or necessary for security and transaction integrity.
9. Children
ChatSathi is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly permit children to create accounts. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal information.

We may revise this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain available on this page with its effective date.
